Clashbar is the centre of Clink Hostels’ social life: an in-house late-licence bar bringing you 7 nights a week of unadulterated fun, with live music, DJs and many more events, plus great cocktails. They have a TV and film lounge in a big old wood-panelled courtroom with some uniquely comfy sofas for sprawling in front of a good movie or a terrible one on are large screened projector.
Clink78’s internet lounge is one of the old magistrates’ courtrooms carefully converted into an internet and computer zone, with plenty of internet-access terminals (currently £1 for 30 minutes – £2 per hour) and fast WiFi for your own laptop, tablet or smartphone (currently is free and lasts 14 days) is available in all common areass of the hostels, only! For punk fans and trivia collectors, this is the very same courtroom where The Clash went on trial in 1978 for shooting a pigeon!. The courtroom is English Heritage-listed and we’ve done our utmost to keep it in its original condition.
Clink78 has a huge, well-equipped self-catering kitchen, so on the days you don’t want to hit the great and cheap local restaurants, you can cook up gourmet meals for yourselves… and for your new friends if you’re feeling really charitable. In the morning, the kitchen is where they serve a FREE all-you-can-eat breakfast of tea, coffee, cereals and toast. Then guests can use the hostel kitchen to prepare their own food at lunchtime, all afternoon and all evening.
There are lots of warm solid wood tables and benches spread through the open plan dining area, with its mix of smaller and larger spaces, with cool wall art and photography all around you. You can sit down to eat that amazing meal you just cooked (or better still, someone cooked for you). Chat, play board games, compare pictures with other travelers or go and find yourself a quiet corner to get on with that tricky chapter in your next novel.
The shop sells discounted tickets for London attractions like the London Eye, West End musicals, theatres and city tours. We also sell travel essentials like UK plug adaptors, toothbrushes and toiletries. They help organise airport transfers and onward travel, and offer you expert advice on how to squeeze the most enjoyment into your time in London
Thier staff come from all over the world and speak many languages, so you can almost always find someone that understands you when you need it most!
You can wash and dry your clothes in the laundry while you’re staying at Clink. You can even iron them!
Clink Hostels have lots of washing and toilet facilities; some are single-sex and others are for all to use (but private and secure)… all are cleaned regularly. There are also some en suite rooms available to book for your peace of mind.
Clink78 offers a range of hostel accommodation in mixed dorms, girls dorms, en-suite rooms, private rooms and original and authentic prison cells!
However, character comes with compromise! Due to the historic nature of the building Clink78 is housed in; the rooms vary in size with private rooms being cosier than the more spacious larger dorms. But don’t worry, what they may lack in room size they make up for by offering the best communal areas of any London hostel and this is in-tune with their philosophy of facilitating genuine exchange with fellow travellers.

All Clink hostel rooms are cleaned daily and accessed by key card only for extra security.
There are plenty of well-maintained, communal (push button) shower rooms and toilets on all floors at Clink78. There are both single-sex and mixed facilities so don’t worry, your modesty is safe with us! Bathrooms and toilets are cleaned regularly.
