Situated just two miles from the historic Yorkshire market town of Richmond in the Yorkshire Dales, Brompton Lakes is set in 26 acres with two lakes surrounded by beautiful open countryside and woodland. Many of the lodges are dog friendly, the others are kept dog free
We like the Hot tub and sauna area – The Swedish style recreation area has a large wooden hot tub, a barrel sauna, a barbecue and seating area with plenty of room to relax. The traditional wooden hot tub, made from larch, is great in the summer but best perhaps at night, when the stars are out or even when it is snowing! The barrel sauna is made from Thermowood, there are three rooms inside, a changing area, a relaxation room and a changing area.
The sauna and the hot tub are both heated by log burners, the gentle roar of the stoves adds to the atmosphere and they can be operated quite easily.
The beautiful Scandinavian BBQ house is available exclusively to Brompton Lakes guests all year round. It’s a cool place to be in summer and warm place in winter! Chunky Scandinavian timber planked walls and double glazing keep things cosy in winter while the decked area outside is perfect for summer days and evenings. Guests can rent the BBQ house for lunch or an evening meal: all cutlery, crockery and glasses will be provided so all you need to bring is the food.
They also offer a Dine-in Service for guests who would like to take things a little bit easier or celebrate a special occasion. They can arrange for a professional chef to prepare, cook and serve a meal of your choice in the privacy and comfort of your lodge? Generally this will be for 6 people but if you have friends staying in one of the other lodges they can move the furniture around and cater for up to 12 people in one lodge. Larger numbers could be accommodated in the Plantation Room where up to 18 people could eat together.
So the lodges are great…but the extras make this place that little bit quirky.
