We don’t think we have ever seen an establishment like this before. Musician Jane Bom-Bane (who is the owner) performs original songs and poetry to the accompaniment of harmoniums and mechanical hats after people have finished their evening meal. By all accounts she is pretty good too!
Bom Bane’s is a licensed cafe-restaurant which features delicious Belgian and other European dishes, along with the Aesop’s Tables, Tablerone, TurnTable, Twenty-Seven Chimes Table, Uns-Table and Water Tables.
Reading their website it would seem they can offer a number of experiences unlike we have found elsewhere. We love the Home Work club for secondary school kids. Its after school and promises a couple of teachers to help you along with nibbles to feed the body whilst the homework feeds the mind.
We also like the promise of private parties where they allow the full use of the café/restaurant and also with enough notice the promise of a specially written song for the person celebrating their special event. How quirky is that. All very reasonably priced too!
They have Film and Food for £5.55 – Love saying that! Catchy! (Hee Hee) Its on a Wednesday night and sounds a bargain and a hoot.
Christmas Musical with Puppetry? Is there no end to the unusual offers at this fabulously quirky venue. Something different every month so its worth looking up what on when you are in the area. We are really looking forward to our visit.
